The Players Theatre announces it’s Summer Sizzler Series in repertory beginning June 14 with the nostalgic tribute to the best music of the 1950’s in Taffetas. This fun and family friendly musical is Directed by Michelle Teyke with assistance from Musical Director Lori Gaddis. Starring Nikki Maack, Laurie Colton, Megan Ireland, Kathy Abney, the musical features the classic songs “Lollipop”, “Mr. Sandman”, “Sincerely”, and “I’m Sorry”. The show runs June 14-17 and again July 12-15, 2012.
Next in the series is the haunting play Terra Nova. Directed by Elliott Raines with assistance from Sandra Musicante, this play follows the heroic journey of two sets of explorers competing to be the first to reach the South Pole. Actors include: Rafael Petlock, Barry Look, Kevin Sario, Ken Bernfield, Seva Anthony, Ren Pearson, and Dylan Jones. Runs June 21-24 and again July 19-22, 2012.
The third show in the series is Lettice and Loveage. Jimmy Hoskins directs this English comedy that asks the question, “Is it better for the guide to tell the truth and be bland or to exaggerate and entertain?” Actors include: Pam Wiley, Kaylene McCaw, Sianne Brinn, Dick Pell, Dan Higgs, Addie Rosen, and Lyn Wiley.
The final show in the Summer Sizzler Series is Stay. This exciting new play was written by last year’s New Play Festival Winner, Sheila Cowley. Directed by Jolie Rand with assistance by Mackenzie Deets, the drama spotlights an eye surgeon who in a desperate attempt to keep her husband, convinces him he was blinded in an accident. Actors include: Eugenie Bondurant, Kevin Sario, Neil Levine, and Nikki Maack. This show will run for one week only August 9-12, 2012.
