The Players Studio has classes for children as young as three years old through adult. There is a variety of classes offering instruction in Acting, Singing, and Dancing for all levels of experience. We also offer a variety of workshops to refine your skills.

Youth Acting (ages 8-12)

Monthly Fee: $50
A class to help students develop characters incorporating improvisation and games, while enhancing concentration and memorization skills, as well as working on scenes, monologues and how to properly audition.

Youth Intermediate Acting (ages 8-12)

Monthly Fee: $50
This class takes students to the next level developing characters, relationships and environments from written sources. Students must have prior acting experience.

Teen Acting (ages 13-17)

A scene study class to help students develop believable characters by exploring backgrounds, motivations, and emotions.

Teen On Camera Acting* (ages 13-18)

In both the Youth and Teen On Camera Acting, students will experience what it is like to work on and off camera! Learn the basics of film acting including screen tests, auditioning, and how to understand a script from the actor’s perspective and use it on camera. From pre-production, to filming a short film, this fun-filled class is full of information. Come ready to learn and perform!

Combo Dance (ages 3-5)

A combination of ballet, jazz and tap teaching dance positions in a fun atmosphere. This class improves coordination, strength, and flexibility.

An introduction to musical theatre focusing on vocal techniques and jazz dance.

A class focusing on songs for the stage designed to help students develop a more effective vocal instrument and build a strong musical foundation.

The Professional Voice* (ages 16-adult)

Workshop Fee: $75
This class provides vocal coaching and music theory to singers with prior experience. Come prepared with your own music and the instructor will choose appropriate music for you.

FUN-damentals of Acting

The focus of this class is emphasis on the Improvisation, Characterization and Script Interpretation. Students get in touch with their creative center in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Musical Theatre Dance

This fun and active class will teach you musical theatre performances from Broadway productions. Be ready to work hard and have fun!

Musical Theatre Dance Clinic (ages 15-adult)

Workshop Fee: $20
Learn dance techniques for Musical Theatre, Improv Techniques, audition techniques and choreography from Broadway shows. Join this powerhouse teacher and gain tricks of the trade to help you land that next role. Dewayne has performed in numerous shows including Cats, A Chorus Line, Crazy For You, Singin’ in the Rain, and West Side Story to name only a few.

Adult Acting Workshop (ages 18-adult)

Instructor: Pam Wiley
Monday 5:30pm – 7:00pm & Saturday 2:00pm – 3:30pm

Workshop I: October 20, 25, 27, 2014 & November 1, 3, 8, 2014
This workshop will focus on improving your audition skills and experience and help you develop believable characters. You will learn to analyze and perform scenes. Individual in-depth coaching is at the heart of these classes. A choice of monologues, scenes, and reading materials will be available, or you may provide your own in which to work.
Workshop I Fee: $125

Workshop II: is a scene study class that puts your acting skills to the test. Here is a safe place you can make mistakes, succeed, challenge yourself and grow as an actor. You will flex your acting muscles and refine your craft; and take your acting technique and harness it for a dynamic performance. The final class will be a production of scenes for friends and family. Bring a scene you’d love to do, or pick something new to bring to life.
Workshop II Fee: $150

Stage Make-Up (ages 13-adult)

Instructor: Berry Ayers
Wednesdays 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Workshop Fee: $150 (Includes Stage Make-Up Kit)
This tutorial, with required Stage Make-Up Kit purchase (included in workshop fee), will take you through various stages of make-up application and techniques. From “Basic Day Face” to “Stage Beauty”, “Theatrical Old Age” to “Whimsical Fairy”, learn how to look your best for special occasions and every day!
This workshop will meet January 21 through February 25, 2015
Limited to 10 Students

Tap Intensive Workshop (ages 16-adult)

Instructor: Kay Siebold
Spring Break Special 5:30pm – 7:00pm
Fee: $55
Learn to tap fast with the Debbi Dee Style! This workshop is for experienced tap dancers. Dancers should know their basic steps as well as pulls and draws. Experience the joy and exhilaration of getting speed out of your steps. You will learn warm ups, combinations, and skills that will help you achieve speed and clarity.
This workshop will meet March 10, 11, & 12, 2015


Private lessons are available for all ages in acting, dance, singing, and piano upon request. One hour $50/Half hour $30. Please call 941-365-2494 for scheduling or questions.



  • Annual auditions for The Players Kids are coming up September 6, 2014 under the direction of Steven Vincent and Berry Ayers.
  • The Players Kids represent The Players Studio at community events, public appearances, and in a staged production. Boys and girls ages 7 – 17 should come prepared with a short (1 minute) song, and wear comfortable clothing for the dance portion. Upon acceptance into The Players Kids, students must register in a minimum of 1 class as well as attend regularly scheduled Saturday morning rehearsals. A $150.00 annual fee is required. Limited absences are allowed.

  • Join this active and vibrant group! The Players Follies, a 50+ performing troupe, represent The Players Theatre at community events, public appearances, a play reading on The Players Cabaret stage, and a staged production in April 2015. This troupe is an outlet for performers to gain camaraderie, support, and have the chance to express themselves theatrically.
  • An $150.00 annual fee is required.
  • Rehearsals will take place Tuesday and Thursday 1-3pm.
  • The Players Follies Runs September 16, 2014 – April 12, 2015
