The judges have spoken! More than 30 original plays were submitted by regional playwrights and just six were selected to be read at the 9th Annual New-Play Writing Competition. On August 10-15, 2009, patrons will experience the birth of new, original plays, and have the opportunity to participate in a post-performance Q & A. The winning play of the competition will be presented as a full production on The Players main stage during our 80th season in 2010.

THE ACTORS / THE AUDITIONS

Be a part of it! Auditions will be held on July 11 at The Players Theatre starting at noon. Please call 941-365-2494 to reserve a spot, and come prepared with a one-minute monologue. We’re looking for females from ages 13-70, and males ages 18-70. All ethnicities welcome!

The next set of auditions for the first four musicals of the 0910 season will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm at The Players Theatre. Please call 941-365-2494 to reserve your spot, and come prepared with a one minute song selection and a one minute monologue.
