The Sarasota Players  is proud to continue on the tradition of offering local playwrights the chance to have their plays read aloud for our community and patrons to experience. For over two decades, your community theatre has brought together some of the most talented minds in the area for a week of never-before-heard plays, performed in readers style-theatre, directed by a local director and performed by local actors.

Playwrights are competing for the chance to have their work produced with full sets, costumes, lighting and sound. This opportunity is invaluable to those artists that may have spent from months to years on a script with hopes it would someday see an audience.
