The Sarasota Players Divas and Dancing

                                Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6PM
                                  The Sarasota Players
                          3501 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota

Not your typical gala. Just your kind of party.

What happens when The Sarasota Players throws a fundraiser? We do it our way.

Divas & Dancing is casual, playful, and personal, just like The Players. Forget the traditional gala formula. This is a chance to gather with friends, meet some new ones, enjoy great food and wine, and support the future of community theatre in Sarasota.

Baubles, Bubbles & Bags

Come ready to have some fun.

Chef Rob Manley will prepare a curated grazing table, accompanied by beer and wine selections from 99 Bottles Taproom. Guests can shop fabulous, gently loved designer handbags and costume jewelry, take a chance on the wine pull, and join in fundraising games throughout the evening.

And yes, there will be dancing, but here’s the important part: you absolutely do not have to dance.

Enjoy our diva performers. Grab a glass of wine. Browse the bags. Layer on some jewelry. Visit with friends. Cheer on the people who do hit the dance floor. Divas & Dancing is meant to be enjoyed your way.

What should I wear?

Think festive, fun, and comfortable, not a formal gala.

Festive attire is perfect, but it isn’t a requirement. If this is your excuse to dress to the nines, embrace it. If you’d rather add a fabulous necklace, colorful jacket or statement accessory to something comfortable that you feel good in, that’s equally welcome.
Diva is an attitude, not a dress code.

Have Fun. Help Build Our Future.

Behind all the fun is an important purpose. Every ticket supports the renovation of The Sarasota Players’ new home at Payne Park.

Divas & Dancing is limited to 100 guests, with tickets priced at $100 per person.

Come as you are. Add a little sparkle. And help us build what comes next.

MEET THE divas

Jason Ellis, Emcee

For over 20 years Ellis has been active on the local stages as an actor and singer most notably as Emcee (Cabaret), Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald (Assassins), Cinderella’s Prince/The Wolf (Into the Woods), and Johnny (American Idiot). In tandem with his background in acting, Ellis has been the Master of Ceremonies for local auctions, Galas, and burlesque troops. As his alter ego, Swanky Valli, he has combined classic crooner vocal performance with stand up comedy as he graced stages from Key West to Sarasota. You may have seen him locally at The Gator Club, McCurdy’s Comedy Theatre, The Mable, Blase Cafe, or The Asolo Repertory Theatre with various performance groups such as Hard Heart Burlesque, Black Diamond Burlesque, Big Red Nose Burlesque, and Squeaky Wheel Theatre Troupe. He is a true diva at heart with a love for a bygone era of stiff drinks and late-night vaudeville.
