 No Class tuition: There are no membership fees to be a part of The Team, However, please note that there are Fees associated for costs for travel, competition fees and registration, and costumes/gear. 🌟

Junior Theater Festival Performance Team!

AGES 10-18

We are ecstatic to announce that The Players Studio will be attending the Junior Theater Festival for the first time in January 2025!  This group will perform The Little Mermaid and will take a 15-minute cut of The Little Mermaid to JTF. 
The Junior Theater Festival (JTF) is the premier platform for young musical theater enthusiasts to display their talents. Imagine an action-packed weekend where student groups from across the globe come together to celebrate the art of musical theater. Each team performs a dynamic 15-minute segment from a Broadway Junior® production and receives constructive feedback from a panel of musical theater professionals. The festival also includes workshops for students, parents, and educators, previews of upcoming musicals, and culminates in a dazzling concert featuring top Broadway performers.
Rehearsals:
  • August Intensive: 5-9 9:30-3:30pm
    August 31-January 4
    : Sundays 12-2 (As needed, may do every other week!)
    Additional Rehearsals: Will be scheduled closer to the performance date
  • Mandatory Rehearsals: First two weeks of January leading into the show there will be additional rehearsals. All rehearsals should be taken seriously and considered mandatory. Missing rehearsals could result in loss of role. 
 
Cost: 
  • Tuition: $900
  • $400 additional for parents who plan to attend

    Includes:

  • Ticket to the festival/registration
  • Materials and licensing fees
  • Show Shirt
  • Bracelets for trading with other schools at JTF.
 
ADDITIONAL COSTS
Travel, Hotel, transportation, Food. All information will be available in August.
 
Payments:
  • $400 Due at time of auditions to purchase tickets to the event
  • $400 Parent ticket price (if you plan to travel and attend with the group)
  • Monthly Payments available for the remaining $500 (between August and December)
Parent Tickets:
Parent tickets for the festival are $400. Payments must be made after the show is cast if you plan to attend as a parent. 

Commitment to team:
 
Once cast, students are required to attend rehearsals and to rehearse at home. This group is a commitment and requires students to dedicate time to create a cohesive team. Constant missing of rehearsals may result in removal of role/from the show. This is also a financial commitment, and once the initial payments are received we will be purchasing tickets and they are non-refundable. Plane tickets, travel costs, food, and hotel will also be additional costs. 
 
Auditions:
  • July 13, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (if you are not available please reach out to Thayer Greenberg to submit a video audition) 
  • Prepare: One song from the show…See below
  • Dress: Please Dress ready to dance and move. Wear appropriate dance shoes and clothing.

Callbacks will be held if necessary

  • Ariel/Mermaids – Part of Your World
  • Prince Eric – One Step Closer
  • Ursula – Poor Unfortunate Soul
  • King Triton – One Step Closer or Under The Sea
  • Sebastian – Under The Sea
  • Flounder – Under The Sea
  • Scuttle – Under The Sea
  • Various Ensemble Roles – Choose any of the above songs
Casting: Casting is based on who is right for the role, no roles are previously cast. This is an ensemble show and all students will be part of every number. Students cast in leading roles will be part of the ensemble in all numbers their character is not in. 
 
Travel Info:
All team members must arrive in Atlanta Friday Morning, January 17th. The Players Team will be arriving Thursday evening, so all students traveling with us will need to fly out with us and plan to stay until Monday morning. 4 nights. Students traveling with parents can arrive Thursday or Friday, but it must be Friday morning. There are activities starting early Friday. 
Transportation cost and planning is the responsibility of each family. We will have group rates for transportation and hotel available in August. We recommend utilizing these options as it is fun for students to travel together! Room share, carpooling is always an option for families and can save the total cost/family. 
Hotel: Hotel Options will be available in August
