91st Season Announcement

On Saturday, January 19th, 2020 we announced the shows in our 91st Wilde Broadway Series. This season will be the last season in our current building before we make our move to Lakewood Ranch. Keep reading to see what exciting shows will close out our time in Sarasota!

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas

Sept. 16-Oct. 4, 2020

A rollicking and frolicking, “Bigger than life look” at a musical inspired by the real-life Chicken Ranch in La Grange, Texas. Characters bigger than Texas, Miss Mona, Sheriff Ed Earl and crusading television reporter Melvin P. Thorpe, collide in this exciting musical sure to get your blood pumping!

Falsettos

Oct. 21-Nov. 8, 2020

The Tony Award winner for best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical. Falsettos is a heartwarming combination of three one-act plays all celebrating the story of family, in all its forms. The trials and tribulations of the extended family of Marvin, his son, his wife, his boyfriend and their neighbors continues to enamor theater goers of all ages.

Monty Python’s Spamalot

Silliness abounds as this Tony Award-winning musical gallops onto the stage in this highly irreverent parody of the King Arthur legend. Delightful characters, salacious songs and enough Monty Python frivolity to entertain the socks off a penguin. This live action musical comedy takes the hilarious movie to the next level!

The Wedding Singer

Feb. 17-Mar. 7, 2021

Based on the hilarious 1998 film of the same name, this musical revolves around Robbie, who makes his living singing at weddings. After a failed relationship with his former fiancée, Robbie decides to sing his way into the heart of his new love, Julia. Funny and romantic, it’s the perfect date night out.

It’s the perfect way to wrap up the Wilde Broadway series and the 47th year in our current location – a tribute to The Players Centre. Songs, sketches and stories all saluting the best loved and most treasured productions that came to life on our stage. Share a few of our favorite things with us as we bring down the grand curtain for the last time on a legacy of entertaining the community in our current location.
