The Players Studio, the education department of the Players Centre for Performing Arts, is thrilled to announce auditions across our all-encompassing performance groups.
Led by local professionals on The Players Studio staff – including Alyssa Goudy, Brian Finnerty, Debbi White, Amanda Heisey, Lacey Knispel and Logan Junkins, participants will get the chance to improve their performance skills in an inclusive group setting with theatre training culminating in a performance. All experience and ability levels are welcome!
Be a part of our performance groups, with opportunities for students 7 and up, and represent The Players Studio at community events, public appearances and in a production! Take part in a fun learning process with real-life experience. All performance groups, with the exception of the Players Follies, will perform at our newly opened Studio 1130 venue at The Crossings at Siesta Key.
Masks will be required until further notice.

THE PLAYERS KIDS (ages 7-10)
Under the direction of Lacey Knispel & Logan Junkins
Auditions will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 9am.
Boys and girls should be prepared with a 1-minute song and 1-minute monologue. Upon acceptance into The Players Kids students must register in a minimum of 1 class as well as attend regularly scheduled Saturday morning rehearsals from 9-10am. The first rehearsal is Sept. 18. A $200 annual fee is required which includes a yearly Players Kids shirt and jazz pants. Limited absences are allowed.
The Players Kids will be presenting the original production Oops Upon a Time in May 2022.
THE PLAYERS KIDS NEXT GEN (ages 11-17)
Under the direction of Alyssa Goudy, Brian Finnerty & Debbi White
Auditions will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at 9am.
Students should prepare a 1-minute song and 1-minute monologue for the audition. Upon acceptance into The Players Kids Next Gen students must register in a minimum of 1 class as well as attend regularly scheduled Saturday morning rehearsals from 9-11am. The first rehearsal is Sept 18. A $350 annual fee is required which includes a yearly Players Kids shirt and jazz pants. Limited absences are allowed.
The Players Kids Next Gen is presenting Beauty & the Beast Jr. in April of 2022.
THE PLAYERS TEENS (ages 12-17)
Under the direction of Amanda Heisey
Auditions will be held Monday, Aug. 30, 2021.
Students should prepare a 1-minute monologue for the audition. Upon acceptance into The Players Teens, students must register in a class of choice as well as attend regularly scheduled Monday evening rehearsals. The first rehearsal is Sept. 13 at 5pm. A $200 annual fee includes rehearsal time and a limited-edition tee shirt. Limited absences are allowed.
The Players Teens will be presenting a production in April 2022.
THE PLAYERS FOLLIES (ages 80+)
Under the direction of Brian Finnerty & Logan Junkins
Join this active and vibrant group! The Players Follies is a 50+ FREE performance troupe. This troupe is an outlet for performers to gain camaraderie, support, and express themselves theatrically.
Rehearsals will take place Thursday from 1pm-3pm
First rehearsal is Thursday, Sept. 9.
The Players Follies will be presenting an original musical revue virtually in April 2022.
THE PLAYERS TAP CO. (ages 18+)
Under the direction of Brian Finnerty & Logan Junkins
Auditions for The Players Tap Co. will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at 2pm
The Players Tap Co. is an advanced adult group, age 18 and up, whose focus is technique, style, precision, and skill while learning exciting new choreography. The group will learn ensemble numbers to perform at outreach events and on The Players social media.
A $40 monthly membership fee is required.
Saturday rehearsals will take place from 2-4pm starting Sept. 11.
