This class is designed for Tappers with a solid foundation in tap dance. For students 50+
Introduction to classic cabaret style belly dance and more, all levels of dancers and performers are welcome. Posture, movement, footwork and isolations in weekly drills and combos to modern and classic music. No prior dance history is needed for this beginner class where we learn the basic moves of belly dancing in a series to build stamina, confidence and to get more in tune with your body. The only thing required is comfortable workout wear and water, no shoes needed!
“Mastering the Stage 1” is a class designed for those new to acting or looking to build a strong foundation in their craft. Students will explore the basics of performance through a combination of proper use of their voice, scene study, and improvisation. We will also explore different acting techniques so you can enhance your understanding of the craft. The course emphasizes building confidence, understanding character motivation, and learning to trust and collaborate with others. The class encourages a supportive environment where students can explore, make bold choices and become an emotionally connected actor and artist. We will end the semester by performing scenes at our Summer Showcase so you can show your incredible work to your friends and family. “Mastering The Stage 1” will help you unlock your true artistic potential.
“Mastering The Stage 2” is for more advanced actors who are ready to take their talent to the next level. This intensive class is designed for actors to push the boundaries of their craft and deepen their understanding of performance. Students will be introduced to many different styles of acting techniques with group and individual exercises. Students will be given the tools to trust themselves and work in a supportive theatrical troupe. Through a combination on scene study, script analysis, improvisation, and method based exercises, students will learn to approach text and character with great complexity. We will also be approaching and working on monologues and scenes from award winning playwrights to be performed at our Showcase. Must have teacher approval for “Mastering The Stage 2.”
A fun, energetic jazz class designed for adults 50 and up who want to move, groove, and enjoy the joy of dance. We’ll focus on flexibility, rhythm, and confidence while keeping things approachable and supportive. Whether you’re returning to dance or trying it for the first time, this class is all about staying active, learning new skills, and having a great time together.
Learn about all the stitches on your machine and how to use it properly or borrow one of our basics and learn how to sew. Whether you want to create from a pattern or just want to save money and learn how to do simple alterations on your own, we'll get you comfortable with using a sewing machine while creating simple projects. Everything from threading, bobbins, choosing needles to how to pin and press and stitch the perfect corner or ease into a curved seam.
